The University of Karachi (UoK) ( Sindhi: یونیورسٹی آرڪاچی) is a public research university located in Karachi, Sindhi, Pakistan. Chartered by the Government of Sindh in 1951, it is recognized by the Higher Education Commission. With a strong focus on research, the university has produced some of Pakistan’s leading scientists and researchers.
The university has also been home to a number of Nobel laureates, including Abdus Salam, Malala Yousafzai, and Muhammad Yunus. The University of Karachi is one of the largest universities in Pakistan, with over 180,000 students enrolled across its 82 departments and 26 constituent colleges. The university offers a wide range of undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctorate programs.
